A few weeks ago Pediped, a children’s shoe company sent me a few pairs of shoes for my daughters to try out. We received these right before leaving for our trip to Disney World and I was a little worried about the girls wearing brand new shoes on a trip that I knew would involve a TON of walking. But, they wore their new shoes all over Disney and I heard zero complaints about their feet hurting, which if you have a young kiddos you know the complaint department is always on overload! In fact they still love wearing their shoes from this company so I have to share an exciting opportunity coming up about an online Pediped egg hunt and a way for you to win shoes for only a penny!
Pediped.com has a fun online egg hunt planned on April 1st – 5th & on April 8th – 12th. They will be running a website “egg hunt” where they hide an Easter egg somewhere on the site and the first person to find the egg gets a penny pair of shoes in their choice of size and gender.
Here are the rules and steps:
Win a pair of shoes for ONE PENNY & FREE SHIPPING when you find an “Egg Hunt” egg on pediped.com! Each day they will hide three eggs on the site between 12 PM and 4 PM CST at random times Monday-Friday.
Step 1: Search pediped.com for a colorful “Egg Hunt” egg.
Step 2: Select your size/gender, add to cart.
Step 3: Place your order FAST!
Each penny egg will redeem a NEW spring/ summer style in your size and gender selection for ONE PENNY & FREE SHIPPING!
There is SO MUCH that goes into planning a Walt Disney World vacation with toddlers! There are 4 major parks with endless amounts of entertainment and great restaurants at each one so it’s hard to know exactly where to start when you’re trying to plan a trip to “Mickey’s House” as my daughters like to call it. We decided to go ahead and take a family trip this past February since the girls are still in preschool and we thought the parks would be a little less crowded than during their peak seasons. Little did we know Disney is ALWAYS crowded year round, apparently school age kids go there at all times of the year so we did not beat the crowds but we did manage to have a great time at Disney World with toddlers.
We decided to commit one full day to each park and not bother with getting any park hopper passes. I think this strategy worked pretty well because it’s a lot of work to transport young kids anywhere so going to more than one park per day just seemed way too ambitious to us. Rating our experience of all 4 parks in order from the best to worst is as follows:
We absolutely loved our time at Magic Kingdom and Epcot! These parks definitely have the most rides and character experiences for toddler/preschool age children. There are things for toddlers to do at every park but we enjoyed our experience at Magic Kingdom and Epcot the best.
Favorite Attractions at Magic Kingdom
A few of our favorite rides at Magic Kingdom included:
Definitely get FastPasses for all of these rides if you can! Dumbo and the Magic Carpet rides are very similar so you really only need to FastPass one or the other. You can start booking your FastPasses up to 60 days in advance if you are staying onsite at a Disney resort or if you have a regular ticket you can book up to 30 days in advance. Our kids also enjoyed the Swiss Family Tree House, you do not need a FastPass for this and there was never much of a line or crowd when we walked by. They also loved Tom Sawyer Island which we did not need FastPasses for either. We also loved our dining experiences at all four of the parks. Here is a complete list of all of the best restaurants for young kids.
Favorite Attractions at Epcot
We were really surprised at how much we enjoyed Epcot, there are lots of attractions for toddlers and we had some of our best character dining experiences here.
Our favorite rides & attractions at Epcot:
Frozen Ever After is a slow moving indoor boat ride with no height requirement, I was amazed that I was even allowed to bring our 5 month old daughter on this one. They have lots of special effects that the girls really enjoyed!
Soarin’ Around the World was a favorite for my husband and I but our kids were not tall enough to go on this one with us, they have to be at least 40 in for Soarin.’
We also really enjoyed The World Showcase at Epcot which is mainly a bunch of restaurants & bars featuring cultural food from countries worldwide.
Favorite Attractions at Hollywood Studios
Some of the best attractions for toddlers at Disney are the shows! At Hollywood Studios our favorite attractions were:
Beauty and The Beast – Live on Stage – the show only lasts about 30 minutes and there are lots of bright colored costumes, loud music and characters on stage to keep them fully entertained.
They surprisingly also liked seeing the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular show that included lots of explosions, fire, a gigantic rolling stone, and a car flip over.
Toy Story Land is supposed to be fantastic! We wanted to check out everything it has to offer but we ended up heading back to the room early for naps that day 🙂 I have heard it’s perfect for preschool aged kids too.
Favorite Attractions at Animal Kingdom
Overall we enjoyed our time at Animal Kingdom but it was not the best park for toddlers compared to the other 3 parks. At Animal Kingdom we did enjoy the following attractions:
I am super late getting this up but I did want to share some adorable Valentine’s Day tiered tray decor since it’s one of my favorite holidays and I feel like it’s OK to leave all of the heart decor up throughout the whole month of February! I try not to spend too much on decorating these trays since all of the small decor can add up quickly, so I was very excited to find a couple of cute pieces that were affordably priced for this Valentine’s Day Tiered Tray.
The small house on the top shelf can be found at Target and everything else in this picture is linked below.
House Bud Vase – This pretty much stays in my tray year round because it’s so easy to decorate for any season with it.
The love heart tray and mug are unfortunately currently sold out from Pottery Barn.
I usually try to avoid Pottery Barn because it can be so expensive but I was excited to find this matching heart tray and mug for almost the same price as a few I saw in Target! They also have an adorable heart shaped candy dish that matches too but it was on back order at the time.
Pier One also has a great selection of holiday decor and I loved this little heart bowl candy dish! They had several matching heart mugs that were adorable I just did not have space for.
The beaded garland on the top tier is a little hard to see in this picture but it is super cute and pretty much stays in this tray year round. I found on Etsy and added a link for it below.
This tiered tray is currently on sale and I cannot say enough great things about it! The quality is excellent and I love the rustic wood look. Painted Fox Home has lots of other great options too if you are looking for a different style.
One of the toughest parts about sleep training (in my opinion) is setting a successful nap time routine throughout the day and staying consistent with that routine. Certified Gentle Sleep Coach, Lauren Lowenstein helps share lots of great nap time tips as well as some insight on how much sleep your child should be getting every day.
Pretty much the first question people ask when they see a new mom with her baby is “how is he/she sleeping?” I think everyone is just curious because if you’ve ever been there you know that getting that sweet baby to sleep is no easy task. I’m currently in the beginning phases of sleep training my 4 month old daughter and was lucky enough to get to chat with Lauren Lowenstein, a Certified Gentle Sleep Coach to get some expert advice on infant sleep training. This subject is super broad so we are breaking this up into a two-part series, see nap time tips to get helpful info about your child’s nap time.
What does a sleep coach do? Can you come to my house at 3 AM? (That’s a joke unless you say yes)
Great question! Many young parents whose children are struggling with sleep have no idea what a sleep coach is or that we even exist!
I love matching with my daughters! Not from head to toe obviously but it’s fun to have some adorable mommy and me matching apparel! I also figure they won’t think it’s too cool to match with mom for much longer so I might as well take advantage of it while I still can!
My Mother-in-law found these adorable coats from Chicwish and I absolutely love them! The Knit Your Love Cardigan for mom is currently on sale for $75.90. The Knit Your Love Cardigan for the kids comes in several different colors. We chose the ivory ones but all of the colors are very pretty! They start at size 12 months and go up to 6 years. Be advised shipping takes a little while on these so order soon if you want to wear them this season! Shop these sweaters instantly by clicking on the picture in the feed at the bottom of this post.
Old Navy has a ton of cute mommy and me matching options! As well as lots of coordinating outfits, great for when you are trying to get everyone in the same color scheme for family photos. A lot of these are currently marked WAY down right including tops for only $7!
I’ve never ordered anything from Ryleigh Rue Clothing before but I probably will soon because they have some adorable mommy and me maxi dresses for spring! Most of these are also very well priced in the $30 – $40 range.
I’ve also never ordered anything from PatPat but they have some super cute mommy and me outfits as well. This swimsuit set cracks me up!!! They also have a matching unicorn swimsuit set and unicorn onsies that I know my girls would love!
Most of their matching dresses and pretty floral maxis for spring and run under $20 which is a huge steal! I don’t know about the quality of their clothes as I haven’t ordered from this retailer before, if you have comment below with your feedback! Also, please feel free to comment or reach out to www.makingmemorieswithmyminis.com/contact to share your favorite mommy and me retailers!
